External Competitions
We compete in a number of regional & national competitions. Entries are either from individual members or a selection of members’ images is chosen to represent the club. Selection needs to be made at least a week prior to the deadlines. Members are invited to submit work to represent the club.
North Yorkshire and South Durham Photographic Association (NYSDPA) – Deadline late September.
The inter-club competition is an entry of 6 projected images and 6 prints with no more than 2 from any one member in each category. The Silver Salver is an individual print competition. Any member can submit one print. There is an individual PDI competition and any member can submit one image.

Northern Counties Photographic Federation (NCPF) Print & Projected Image Inter-Club Championship – Deadline February.
This is a competition where we choose a pool of images from which we select the entries. If we are one of the top 2 clubs we are invited to represent the NCPF in the national challenges held at Warwick in July (PDI) & Ormskirk in October (prints). Members are very welcome to attend any of these events & help with the choice of entries.

Annual Battle with Northallerton Camera Club – Deadline early February
this is an inter-club competition where prints and projected images are sent away to an independent judge. We try to use the work of as many members as possible in this competition.

NCPF Annual Competition – Deadline late March.
This is primarily an individual competition & any member is entitled to submit up to 3 images in each of the 3 sections: Colour & Mono Prints & Projected Images. There are several awards in the various sections including some for beginners. By entering the competition, members can qualify to enter for PAGB merit awards (ie CPAGB, DPAGB, MPAGB). Alongside the individual competition is an inter-club competition. The club entry is 6 images chosen by the club for each section, subject to having no more than 2 images from any one worker per section.
